Respawn Issue Clarification On Negative Fan Reaction To TitanFall Player Count Figure "Six vs Six"

Respawn Issue Clarification On Negative Fan Reaction To TitanFall Player Count Figure “Six vs Six”

Earlier today Respawn Entertainment co-founder Vince Zampella confirmed via Twitter that their upcoming multiplayer only FPS, TitanFall will have a maximum player count of Six vs Six i.e a total 12 alongside AI.

TitanFallThis information didn’t got down well with fans and there were some harsh reactions to it on internet. An executive from Respawn Entertainment took to NeoGaf to issue a clarification.

“Lots of armchair game designing going on in here. I’d suggest playing before judging a something as insignificant as a number in a vacuum.
Vince is right – we tried a huge amount of playercounts (all the way down to
1v1 and up quite high) and designed the maps, gameplay mechanics, and entire experience around which played best. If anyone wants to chase the numbers game, perhaps we’re not the experience they’re after? I dunno.
And FYI, for amount of stuff happening at once in a map you’ll be hard pressed to find a game that keeps the action higher. I literally have to stop playing every few rounds because my heart just can’t take it some times.
Remember, you can get out of your Titan and let it roam on AI mode – meaning there can be 12 Pilots wallrunning around, 12 Titans stomping below, and dozens of AI doing their thing.
Oh, and I keep seeing people thinking we’ve got “bots” when we talk about AI. Thats not how they are. The AI in Titanfall are not replacements for human players. Our playercount is not 6v6 because of AI – AI play their own role in the game and are a different class of character in the game.”

TitanFall is one of the most awaited and highly anticipated game of 2014, it is schedule to launch on March 11 for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.

The company earned $152.9 million, or $1.24 per fully diluted share, on revenues of $289.1 million. This compares to earnings of $141.7 million, or $1.19 per fully diluted share, on revenues of $273.5 million for the year ended January 1, 2005.

For the fourth quarter of 2005, Pixar earned $30.9 million, or $0.25 per fully diluted share, on revenues of $55.6 million. This compares to earnings of $55.2 million, or $0.45 per fully diluted share on revenues of $108.9 million, achieved in the fourth quarter of 2004.

“2005 marks Pixar’s tenth year as a public company and, I’m pleased to report, our most profitable year ever,” said Pixar CEO Steve Jobs.

“With the proposed merger of Pixar and Disney, this will likely be our last report as an independent public company, and I’d like to thank every Pixar shareholder for their support over the past decade in helping us build this amazing company.”

Results for the fiscal year were driven by film revenue of $274.8 million, primarily from ‘The Incredibles’ and ‘Finding Nemo’.

Did Obama and Apple’s Tim Cook discuss tax loopholes?

Did Obama and Apple’s Tim Cook discuss tax loopholes?

We consider likely topics of debate when President Obama and Apple boss Tim Cook spoke last weekend

CNN Money has been speculating about newly re-elected President Obama’s chat with Apple boss Tim Cook last weekend, and it suspects that Apple’s tax strategies may have been brought up.

After securing his second term as US leader, Barack Obama promptly met with or called more than a dozen major company executives to discuss economic strategies as the nation faces up to what many call a ‘fiscal cliff’ in the near future.

Election pledges, not to mention Tim Cook’s White House campaigns in the past, strongly suggest that the subject will have involved tax: both men have talked about the necessity for altering the US structure in a way that will reward companies for ‘repatriating’ their earnings.

Alleged tax avoidance has been the source of widespread public outcry recently. Apple, along with Starbucks, Google and Amazon, has seen its tax arrangements come under the spotlight, with widespread anger over the low tax rate it has managed to pay on its enormous worldwide profits by canny overseas holdings and a complex structure of subsidiaries.

Tax filings last month revealed that Apple paid less than 2 percent tax on its overseas earnings in the past 12 months, compared to a federal tax rate of 35 percent back home.

As we reported earlier this month, “The claims are based on figures revealed in Apple’s Form 10-K, filed with US regulator last week. That filing shows that Apple paid just $713m (£445m) in overseas corporation tax on its foreign profits of $38.87bn (£23bn) in the past 12 months.

“That’s 1.9% tax on foreign earnings that were up 53% compared to fiscal 2011. In 2011 Apple earned $24 billion outside the US and paid income tax of 2.5% on it, according to the Associated Press.”

Both Obama and Cook would like to find a way to encourage US firms to bring those earnings back home without scaring the companies off with punitive tax rates.

Aion's Upheaval Expansion Now Live With Server-First Raid Competition

Aion’s Upheaval Expansion Now Live With Server-First Raid Competition

The newest expansion for Aion, Upheaval, is now live on North American servers! Players can explore the zones of Cygnea and Enshar, challenge themselves with two new raids, Stonespear Reach and Drakenspire Depths, and delve into the new and revised Stigma system to unleash the full extent of their power.

Speaking of the new raids, the first party to defeat the Dragon Lord Beritra in Drakenspire Depths on each server and for each faction “will be rewarded for their bravery and dedication,” according to NCSoft. There’s no word on what exactly that reward is, so I’m going to throw “fashionable bikini plate mail” out there as a wild guess. Yes, even for the dudes. Prove me wrong, NCSoft, prove me wrong.

Steve Jobs is King of the Hill

Steve Jobs is King of the Hill

Apple CEO Steve Jobs is the new Steven Spielberg, a report explains.

Through an unusual confluence of factors, not least the recent Pixar/Disney deal, Apple’s success in digital music and his leadership of Apple (and shared invention of personal computing), Jobs is the “king of new entertainment”.

The director of the Institute for the Future, Paul Saffo, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitutiion: “This guy comes down to a mix of three things: pragmatism, idealism and sheer drive.”

“Entertainment, technology and communication are melding at an unprecedented rate. Everybody in the affected businesses is trying to figure out how to capitalise on the transformation,” the report observes.

And Jobs has all the pieces to solve the puzzle, the report adds, with industry analysts fully expecting the visionary business leader will produce yet another “one more thing” to solve the emerging entertainment conundrum for consumers.

Author Justin Menkes describes Jobs as “skilled at questioning the underlying assumptions of any industry and using that insight to take advantage of ever-changing realities.”

Another reality is that Apple’s success in digital media means the company now holds the mind of the consumer market, leaving Microsoft in an increasingly marginalised constituency.

“The tables are turning” in Apple’s favour, said ‘Inside Digital Media’ analyst Phil Leigh.

Motorola gets injunction against Apple in Germany

Motorola gets injunction against Apple in Germany

Motorola Mobility won a preliminary injunction on Friday, forbidding Apple from selling any mobile devices in Germany that infringe on two Motorola patents related to wireless technology.

The district court in Mannheim, Germany, made a default judgment in Motorola’s favor after Apple failed to turn up in court, a spokesman at the Landgericht Mannheim said.

The verdict didn’t mention any Apple products by name, but said that the company can’t offer any mobile devices that infringe on two Motorola patents related to wireless technology, which makes the iPhone and iPad the most likely to be affected. If Apple does not respect the judgment, it may have to pay a €250,000, the court ruled.

Apple is not worried by the decision: “This is a procedural issue and has nothing to do with the merits of the case. It does not affect our ability to sell products or do business in Germany at this time,” a company spokesman said via email.

Vodafone Germany, which on Monday had banners for the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2 on its website, expects the verdict will have no impact on its sales activites. The judgment refers to Apple Inc., the U.S. parent company, and not to the European subsidiary responsible for delivery of products in Germany, a Vodafone spokesman said via email.

A default judgement was handed down by the judge because representatives for Apple didn’t turn up, and Apple will now have to appeal the verdict if the company doesn’t agree with it, the spokesman at the court said.

Apple didn’t comment on what its next legal move will be.

Motorola would prefer to make its technologies widely available by licensing its patents, rather than using the patents to block sales of other products, it said.

Apple is involved in a number of patent-related cases around the world, and has been scoring victories most of them, including getting injunctions against Samsung in Germany and Australia. However, last weekit lost a case against a small Spanish company named, which Apple had tried to stop from selling an Android-based tablet.

Google is in the process of acquiring Motorola Mobility, and is itself involved in a court case related to Android.

Unofficial Fix For GTA V Character Transfer Issue Between X360 To PS4 Discovered: Unlinked Xbox Account & Re-Link Again

Winkus says:

“I was one of those people who hadn’t played since last year. Couldn’t get the transfer to work. So i signed into the social club unlinked my xbox account and relinked it. Restarted the game and bam transfer went in fine. Figured i would share and see if it might work for you guys too.”

Apple renames new iPad, scrapping ‘4G’ in favour of ‘Cellular’

Apple renames new iPad, scrapping ‘4G’ in favour of ‘Cellular’

Apple has changed the name of its new iPad on websites worldwide, swapping ‘4G’ to ‘Cellular’. This change was made following accusations in the UK and Australia that Apple had been misleading customers about the tablet’s capabilities.

The change has appeared in Online Apple Stores across the globe, including the UK, Australia, US, Canada, Ireland, Hong Kong and more.

In March, Apple changed the small print on its UK store webpage, admitting that 4G is only available in the US and Canada.

However, in May, Apple faced further accusations that its adverts for the new iPad’s 4G capabilities in the UK were misleading. The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) reportedly received ‘dozens’ of complaints about the new iPad’s capabilities, which are currently redundant in the UK, and wasn’t satisfied that Apple had complied with an agreement to amend claims about the tablet’s 4G feature on its website.

In Australia, Apple offered refunds to anyone who felt they had been mislead by the iPad’s 4G capabilities, but the company then argued that it had never marketed the device as being compatible with Australia’s networks.
